Some parts of our lives are more important than others. Our relationships, possessions, even our memories get ranked by how valuable they are to us. Much of our life is commonplace and easily replaced. But some things are special, the things we revere and cherish. The factor that distinguishes one person from another is what exactly we consider sacred…and what we do not.
“You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” is a common saying heard today. It’s used to describe our tendency to undervalue the important things in life. Many of the blessings we’ve inherited from past generations get ignored and neglected to such an extent that we are in peril of losing them. Some of the most significant blessings are only available to those who will fight for them.
